Claiming Space by Colloqate Design

dates

May 9 - July 10

Paper Monuments is a public art and public history project that has worked sine May 2017 to pair scholarly narratives and locally commissioned artwork to amplify the stories that are too often lost or obscured when New Orleans history is recounted. The project has served as a public collective planning process, inviting all of our residents to imagine new monuments for New Orleans. Paper Monuments is a project of Colloqate Design, a multidisciplinary non-profit design justice practice focused on expanding community access to, and building power through, the design of communal, civic, and cultural spaces.
